We just returned from a location scout for work we’ll probably be shooting in Los Angeles in June and we got to see a fair amount of the area as we shuttled from one football facility to another. The Rose Bowl is looking pretty good for our needs.
I stayed in town a little while to visit with friends, eat a lot of sushi 🙂 and get that Radio Flyer built.
I got out of the house recently to operate my Scarlet-X a few days for Rhea Anna. We spent some time at a very cool industrial size local greenhouse that featured organic tomato vines as far as the eye could see from floor to ceiling and a little time at a grocery store visiting the tomatoes.
I got word today that three of the Northwest Savings Bank spots I directed and shot for Quinlan Advertising each received a Telly Award.
Spent the morning at our local Lids store shooting a piece illustrating the premium retail presentation for New Era MLB headwear this season called Home of the Authentic. The mall is a very strange place in the am, I have to say.
I’m currently working on a large project for the fine folks at law firm Lipsitz Green Scime Cambria, producing a series of videos illustrating the formidable breadth of experience and ability in their law practice. It’s truly inspirational to see so many experts in one place with collectively centuries of experience in law practice.
Much more to come!
Here’s a piece I shot for New Era Cap Co. in February with the Red Epic digital cinema camera which includes footage shot in a half dozen cities or so during Spring training. In addition to this stuff, we also shot training footage, and some interview stuff here and there. We had no more than maybe 3 or 4 hours to work with each player and during specific times of day which weren’t necessarily the best times for natural light.
Sometimes, you make it work.
More to come.
A little while back I headed up an effort to produce a series of spots for Northwest Savings Bank by way of the Quinlan Company, a full service ad agency based in my current home town of Amherst, NY. I collaborated with producer John Takacs and DPost on getting it produced while I served as Director and Cinematographer on the commercials.
Quinlan handled the post production and found a very nice piece of music that I think compliments the work perfectly.
I love when a plan comes together!
Oh, and I shot stills too!:
The short film I produced and served as cinematographer and editor on for the 48 Hour Film Project in Buffalo last June just screened at Filmapalooza in New Orleans, garnering out lead actor a Best Actress award.
Also, we just got word that the film has been accepted into the Albuquerque Film & Media Experience and will be programmed into that film festival this June.
This is a very recent Univera Healthcare 60 second spot I shot for Partners and Napier on the Red Epic with the help of DPost:
Here’s a 30 second spot I shot a while back with director Paul Souter for Independent Health that I just recently noticed online:
Here’s a spot I shot with director John Takacs last year that just recently received a Silver Addy. This commercial was the only one in its category to win an award this year, so – whoot! :
Much more to come!
